Floods, Fires, and Crime Everywhere but Biden and Harris Are Too Busy Sipping Mai Tais to Care

Well, surprise, surprise—while America is either burning, drowning, or choking on chemical fumes, our esteemed President Biden and Vice President Harris are living it up, far removed from the chaos. Picture it: 17,000 Georgians scrambling to evacuate because of a chemical fire, and where’s Joe? Sipping a mai tai on a Delaware beach, of course. Because nothing screams “leadership” quite like ignoring a full-blown environmental disaster.

In case you missed it, a fire at the BioLab plant in Georgia forced thousands to evacuate, leaving toxic chlorine hanging in the air. Oh, but don’t worry! Officials finally lifted the evacuation orders—only after two days of citizens breathing in that lovely chemical cocktail.

The plant, which makes pool chemicals, went up in flames early Sunday morning, spewing a plume of hazardous material visible for miles. It’s always comforting when your local government advises you to just close your windows and shut off your AC while you’re practically suffocating in chlorine gas. Meanwhile, Biden and Harris couldn’t be bothered to comment, much less show up.

Air quality surveys revealed the release of chlorine gas, which, for those keeping score, can cause everything from burning eyes to nausea and headaches—basically, it’s a chemical nightmare. But hey, Biden’s probably more focused on his beach tan than the toxic air affecting American citizens.

And, of course, the media did their best to downplay the whole situation. Sure, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) monitored the air and water, declaring things “safe” after testing. But, here’s the kicker—folks in surrounding counties like Fulton, Gwinnett, and Newton still reported strong chemical odors and a hazy atmosphere. You know things are bad when schools are shut down, highways are closed, and officials are desperately trying to prevent a full-scale environmental crisis. But where are our fearless leaders? Probably still sipping cocktails in some sunny, far-off location.

Let’s not forget that this isn’t the first time BioLab has had an incident. Oh no, back in 2020, the same facility had a fire after a chemical reaction sparked by water intrusion. Maybe it’s time to get a better handle on keeping these places safe before another catastrophe strikes.

But again, Biden seems more interested in ignoring the actual disasters Americans are facing.

And then there’s Hurricane Helene. While the Southeast is literally drowning, Biden took a little trip to the beach—because, why not? Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas are underwater, roads are destroyed, and the death toll is rising. But Biden? He’s catching rays in Delaware. I mean, what could possibly be more important than that, right?

As if the people of Asheville, North Carolina, haven’t been through enough. Entire communities are cut off, with roads flooded and power knocked out. Local officials are calling the destruction “Biblical,” and yet, our president can’t even be bothered to visit. The media will tell you that Biden “offered a statement,” but words don’t rebuild homes or revive communities, do they?

Tennessee is next on the list of states hit hard, with half a dozen people still missing, and floods sweeping through quiet mountain towns. In South Carolina, 25 lives have already been claimed by Hurricane Helene. But again, where are Biden and Harris? The Oval Office must be a beachside cabana now because that’s where they seem to spend all their time.

Vice President Kamala Harris tweeted some vague message about “working with local leaders” and sending search and rescue teams, but when are they going to show up themselves? You know, like actual leaders do in times of crisis? I guess delegating and avoiding the disaster zone is their idea of effective governance.

So while the rest of the country is dealing with fires, chemical leaks, and deadly floods, the Biden administration is clearly focused on anything but the crises at hand. Their idea of leadership is to offer empty promises and then head for the nearest vacation spot.

Dockworkers from Maine to Texas are walking off the job in what could turn into the latest disaster in a string of national crises, but where are President Biden and Vice President Harris? Not on the picket lines, that’s for sure. Once again, we find our so-called leaders missing in action while the country braces for another economic hit. This time, it’s a dockworkers’ strike that could reignite inflation and cause shortages of everything from bananas to holiday gifts. But, of course, Biden and Harris are nowhere to be found when it matters most.

It’s not like this strike came out of nowhere. The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) had been warning about wage disputes and automation concerns for months. But rather than stepping in early to prevent a full-blown catastrophe, Biden shrugged off the situation. He even flat-out said “no” when asked if he’d use the Taft-Hartley Act to intervene and cool down the labor unrest. Sure, his administration claims they’ve been in “regular communication” with the parties involved, but let’s be real. Words don’t put goods on shelves or stop inflation from spiking again.

And let’s talk about what’s at stake here. We’re not just talking about a few missed shipments. This strike impacts 36 ports across the East and Gulf coasts, which handle a massive chunk of the nation’s supply chain. From Philadelphia to Houston, workers are demanding fair wages and protection from job-killing automation. Meanwhile, the shipping companies—flush with pandemic-era profits—are dragging their feet. The ILA wants a 77% pay raise over six years to keep up with inflation, while the ports are offering 50%. But what are Biden and Harris offering? Absolutely nothing. Not even the semblance of leadership.

What’s more infuriating is that this isn’t the first time Biden and Harris have been MIA during a major strike. Remember the rail workers strike? They waited until the last possible moment to act, and even then, their intervention left workers dissatisfied. It’s a pattern: Let the situation spiral out of control, then swoop in with a half-hearted solution when the damage is already done.

Meanwhile, the media is giving Biden a pass—again. Sure, they’ll report on the strike, but they won’t dig into why the White House is doing the bare minimum to address it. The administration is pretending to care about labor issues, but actions speak louder than words. Biden had a chance to step in and push for a fair resolution before the strike even began. Instead, he’s hoping the issue will resolve itself while he focuses on anything but the crises happening on his watch.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, we’re pretty much on our own. Biden and Harris won’t step up, so it’s up to the American people to take care of each other. And that’s what we’re seeing—communities banding together, first responders working overtime, and local leaders doing their best. But it’d be nice if our Commander-in-Chief could put down the lemonade and at least pretend to care.

But I wouldn’t hold my breath. Actually, in Georgia, maybe you should—there’s still chlorine in the air.
