Pelosi’s Face Says It All as Dems Float Another Trump Impeachment

President Trump’s critics keep trying to impeach him—and his own reelection isn’t slowing them down. But this week’s impeachment push didn’t just fall flat. It flopped so hard that even Nancy Pelosi couldn’t hide her reaction.
A fringe group of progressive House Democrats, led by Rep. Al Green of Texas, introduced a surprise resolution to impeach President Trump over his recent airstrikes on Iran. Green and others claim the strikes violated the Constitution and War Powers Resolution because they weren’t authorized by Congress. But the backlash from within his own party was immediate—and intense.
The effort to revive the impeachment drama came after Trump’s successful Operation Midnight Hammer, a coordinated strike on Iranian nuclear sites that destroyed much of the regime’s uranium enrichment capabilities. While the mission was hailed by military analysts and even confirmed as effective by the head of the UN’s atomic watchdog, that didn’t stop the hard left from calling it grounds for removal.

Pelosi didn’t speak much publicly about the resolution—but she didn’t have to. According to multiple accounts, her facial expressions and body language during the process were enough to signal clear disapproval. She reportedly looked visibly annoyed and disengaged as the resolution made its way to a vote, sending a clear message to her caucus without uttering a word.
When the time came, the House voted overwhelmingly—344 to 79—to table the motion, effectively killing it without even considering the content. That included 128 Democrats joining Republicans in a rare bipartisan moment to reject the impeachment stunt.
Even top Democratic leadership voted to shut it down. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Minority Whip Katherine Clark, and Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar all sided with Republicans, voting to end the resolution before it could go anywhere.
The measure’s sponsor, Rep. Green, has a history of clashing with Trump. Earlier this year, he was ejected from the House chamber during a Trump speech for repeatedly interrupting. But this time, his antics didn’t just isolate him—they highlighted the deeper divisions inside the Democratic Party.
Critics noted the irony of Democrats accusing Trump of “unauthorized wars” after years of silent support for Obama’s drone strikes and foreign operations. Trump’s defenders were quick to point out that Obama himself authorized the targeted killing of American al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki without a vote in Congress—a move cheered by many of the same Democrats now clutching their pearls.
While none of the Democrat leadership explicitly supported the impeachment push, many issued statements that hinted at frustration with Trump’s actions, questioning the lack of Congressional input and warning against escalating tensions. But when push came to vote, the overwhelming consensus was clear: this was not the hill to die on.
The vote also exposed just how little appetite remains for revisiting the impeachment spectacle. After two failed attempts during Trump’s first term, most Democrats seem more focused on rebuilding credibility after their 2024 election defeat—and avoiding another public embarrassment.
Trump’s camp seized on the failed effort as another sign of desperation. “They can’t beat him, so they just scream impeachment every time he gets a win,” one senior advisor said.
Pelosi, meanwhile, said nothing. But her silence, her eye rolls, and her refusal to back Green’s move spoke louder than any soundbite. For now, it seems even she knows that another impeachment crusade is a political loser—even if some in her party still haven’t gotten the message.
