Election Wild Card: A Crippling East Coast Port Strike Could Hit Next Week, Disrupting Supply Chains Until 2025

A major development is underway that could end up costing Kamala Harris the 2024 election. More than 45,000 dockworkers at East and Gulf Coast ports in the US are set to go on strike on Tuesday, October 1st. The union members of the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) voted unanimously on September 4th to strike if they don’t start receiving better wages to help workers recover from the disastrous Biden-Harris economy. Here’s how the upcoming strike could impact your family for months to come, and how it could ultimately doom Kamala Harris’s election hopes.

For perspective, the last time that ILA dockworkers went on strike was back in 1977. That’s how bad the Biden-Harris economy has been. Wages and healthcare costs are the main complaints of the union. The US Maritime Alliance (USMX) represents longshore employers and is refusing to negotiate with the dockworkers. The two sides aren’t even at the negotiating table at this point, with a strike looming in just days.

If this strike takes place, there is a very good possibility that retailers will have empty store shelves for the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in November. Those holiday sales are what keep the retail industry afloat in America. Industry analysts say that if a dockworker strike at East and Gulf Coast ports lasts just two weeks, it will create supply chain problems and shortages well into 2025, coupled with more skyrocketing inflation on consumer goods.

The problems this strike will cause are likely to dwarf the supply chain chaos that we went through during Joe Biden’s first year in office. Not even the media will be able to deny that we’re in a recession at that point. This strike is coming right on the heels of the Teamsters Union refusing to endorse Kamala Harris this year.

The interesting thing about it is that Joe Biden could put a stop to this right now if he wanted to help Kamala Harris. Presidents can invoke the Taft-Hartley Act to delay a strike for up to 80 days if it will impact national security. The act forces the two sides into an 80-day “cooling off” period while negotiations resume.

But Joe Biden doesn’t want Kamala Harris to win the election. She’s his revenge against Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi for forcing him out of the race in a palace coup in July. Obama and Pelosi wanted to replace Biden with Michelle Obama, Gavin Newsom, or even Gretchen Whitmer. Kamala Harris was their last possible choice for the nominee since no one has ever respected or liked her.

Joe Biden may be a doddering old fool, but he is a petty, vengeful, and spiteful doddering old fool. He picked Kamala as his successor and announced it to the world as a giant middle finger to his own party for shoving him aside.

While Biden could invoke the Taft-Hartley Act immediately to bail Kamala Harris out, he says he won’t do it. He doesn’t want Kamala Harris to win the election. He wants his legacy to be that of the only candidate who ever defeated Donald Trump (even though we all know the 2020 election was stolen).

The ILA and the USMX have not even scheduled talks as of this writing. It looks like the strike will go into effect on October 1st, barring any surprises. American families and business owners should brace themselves for more supply chain woes and runaway inflation in the coming months. It’s a last parting “gift” from the worst administration in US history.
